I guess you are surprised if I say that gift has a tongue. Of course, it is strange. But nevertheless a gift can speak. It depends on you and the words you would like to tell to a person. Ancient people believed that a gift was presented as a part of soul. If you have good and pure thoughts this gift will bring happiness, harmony and peace into the life of a receiver. In other case it will cause harm to a receiver. Like in ancient times, our beliefs are connected with light, warm, cherished and exciting feelings. We are waiting for the good, when the holidays are coming (that's why there are so many Christmas movies, for example). So, we hope that the gifts for a holiday will be desirable and good. Right now I want to apologize for these little boys and girls who were waiting for computers and Barbie's houses, but got new boots and modern hair-pins. So, let's imagine what is not worthy to present.
Of course, the last thing we would like to remember for a holiday is our troubles and problems. For example, perhaps stress pills and shampoo are good and practical things – no comments! But is it really something special that our dearest people need on a special day?
Be polite, and do not make a receiver change his style of life. If you have a cute puppy as a present and you are not sure that it is the most desirable gift, stop and think. Let's imagine that a person is to change kind of life, caring of feeding, keeping an animal somewhere and so on and so forth. There is only one exception of the rule – a receiver asked for this puppy long ago, but did not manage to get it.
Lingerie is a good variant, but not as a present. Etiquette considers it to be a definite preposition to continue the intimate relationship. Girls give lingerie to their friends very often. But if you are a male and you are not a lover (yet), keep this idea to the better times. It concerns money as well. Once I got a call from my friend. She was very tired and asked what I would like to get as a present. It is a normal question as I know my friend for a long time and we have very good relationship. So, I answered that money was ok. She was definitely glad with this answer. Giving money is a usual thing if a receiver does not mind. Wedding is another event for presenting money. But do not forget about a beautiful postal card. Thanks to the markets, there is a pile of colorful postal cards in a closest book shop. And if we are speaking about such a tricking issue as money, be careful with too expensive gifts. Definitely, dear gifts sometimes are not a pleasant event for a person as it makes feel obligated to a giver. You should remember about difference in the income, and do not force a person make you so expensive gift next time as well. Even if you presume to yourselves an expensive present, it is better to limit your imagination and give something smaller, but special.
It is not worthy giving the presents with a kind of edification – ex. "this watch is for you, hope now you will not be late for the meetings". Your warmest wishes will not become warmer with these words.
In the USA it is used to re-present the gifts. Boom of this event comes to the beginning of January and for a time after Christmas Day. Re-presenting is allowed only in the cases if a hero of an occasion wants to have this things and nothing more. By the way, you are really lucky if you have such friends. They make choosing of a gift easier.
The labels are not allowed as well. The best variant is to attach a funny postal card to your present, arm with your nicest arsenal of smiles, laugh and warm words and go ahead – to win the top of gift skill.
